Cultural Respect Encompassing Simulation Training

Cultural Respect Encompassing Simulation Training (CREST) are online resources for educators to deliver cultural sensitive training. Comprises five modules and uses culturally diverse simulated patients to deliver training relating to cultural sensitivity in communication to health professional practitioners and students. 


First2Act is an Australian online interactive video simulation software that allows students and professionals to practice medical emergency scenarios.

Virtual Simulated Patient Resource (VSPR) provides online learning modules designed to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes related to non-technical skills and learning through simulation activities utilising a virtual simulated patient care situation. 

Debriefing and feedback


An online resource run by an interprofessional group of simulation educators and researchers which aims to improve healthcare outcomes by fostering effective feedback and debriefing practices. Provides access to simulation/educational presentations, videos, workshops, blogs and podcasts. Also provides various downloadable (printable and electronic) versions of the PEARLS debriefing tool.

Interprofessional Learning through Simulation

The IpAC program has developed a range of interprofessional learning (IPL) through sequential simulation resources in collaboration with the ECU Health Simulation Centre. Permission for the use of these resources has been provided by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Health Advancement) Edith Cowan University (Perth). (2012).

Training manuals for simulation educators

These manuals, originally commission by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in 2007 have been recently updated by the VSA with the support of the DHHS. They are to be used as a resource for simulation educators working in the health and community services sector. They are designed to equip educators with the skills and knowledge needed to successfully deliver simulation-based education.
